So I went to this meeting from acn inc in this guy house I know it was a scam from the get go because I saw a new special about it on my local Fox Channel 11 couple weeks ago ... but I just went along with my friend because her mom wanted to go. The meeting was in a guys ridiculous big 5 bedroom house very nice house that he bought with peoples other money and tears. Is their any way to report this guy? for any of you who don't know acn inc just Google acn scam.

Best Answer:

If it is legit, report them to the Better Business Bureau in your city. But make sure there is enough evidence to prove they are doing wrong. You might want to send a letter to the attorney general in your state asking them to investigate the company.

Here's the thing they are not "Illegal" per se but they are very shady. I'm glad you saw a special on them - I didn't. When I was just out of college and struggling to find a job I got hooked up with these folks and they have some really great speakers that are great at selling you dreams. Well it costs (circa 2004) $500 to join. Of that money 90% goes to the guys that "hired" you and some goes towards getting you a license to sell the services that they sell. You make a very small percentage of the utility bills of the people you have switch over but if you recruit a new person you get $25 or $50 or more depending on your level. For example out of the $500 that I paid $50 went to the guy who recruited me and $25 to the guy that recruited him etc, etc. Now off of a utility bill you may make .10 - .25 cents something like that so the REAL money made with that company comes from their "EMPLOYEES" themselves. Technically, not illegal but morally.... very questionable. In my case I lost about $700. I had my mom and grandma sign up. Within the week my mom... my own mom switched back because the company sucked. My grandma kept having problems and every time she did she called me and I felt terrible because I couldn't help her... heck I didn't know how the company worked I just sold the stuff. I payed my cousin's first month bill to switch over because if you don't get enough accounts in the first month you become unable to recruit people........... think about that and how that would damage your income based on how I said their system works....... So I paid my cousin's first month bill to convince her to switch and I found out later that her previous phone bills had been $20 a month and with ACN she had a $60 bill and then cancelled. I totally screwed her and I felt terrible because she had very little money. They had me try to drag all of my friends to their meetings which are loaded with propaganda on a level that would make Heinrich Himler proud. The reason I say I lost $700 and not just the $500 is because in addition to paying my cousin (and my mom to switch back) they charge you CHARGE you to get into their meetings. This business is SHADY oh God is it shady. These people are very driven and the ones at the top of the pyramid do make quite a bit of money. It's not impossible for you too as well if you are able to convince/trick them into joining and then you can make money off of them and leave the burden on them to gather enough customers in the first month. Hopefully, your family members don't think you're a jerk for hassling them and then providing them with crappy service like mine did. Basically, you need to be good at selling people dreams. I think thats why I was a good candidate - because I was just out of college and lacked direction. Don't let it happen to you. Just keep in mind any REAL job or business opportunity is not going to tell you right off the bat what they can do for you and how good they can make your life - they are going to want something in return. Be wary of those who work the other way around. Now this post will probably get a ton of negative feedback because these people are all over trying to spread their message. They will say wonderful things about their company and its track record and its positive standing with the BBB. But take it from me they're not making their millions from 10 - 25 cents per utility bill its by signing people like me up. *edit* Oh and I forgot to mention... after quitting the company and losing $700 I got a check in the mail for $10.67 payment for my services.
