Is ACN a scam.............?

http://www.acncanada.ca/acn/ca_en/ I hear you have to pay $500 to start as one of their marketers or whatever. Sounds like a scam to me. But more importantly what about the people who buy their services like phone and internet? They provide them for dirt cheap but whats the catch?

They claim that they can provide cheap services because they don't advertise, therefore, costs are down. I've never actually tried it myself but had a family member and a couple of friends tried, none of whom ever earned back what they paid for, and this was a while back. It must work for a few people but it doesn't work for most for whatever reasons. I just remember them being sent audio and video testimony convincing people that they are doing the right thing and to distance themselves from naysayers. Sounds almost like a cult to me.
